Vacations are always such a wonderful treat and definitely something so exciting to look forward to; but what can be better than experiencing a vacation that truly opens your eyes to realize and appreciate all that you have; and help those that may not be as fortunate. That’s what the multi-talented and inspiring teen actor, Brendan Meyer did during his trip to the exotic island of Fiji a little while ago.
When Brendan Meyer (from Disney XD and YTV’s hit show, Mr. Young and Disney Channel’s Girl Vs. Monster) and his family embarked on their trip to Fiji, mother nature had taken a drastic toll on the island; and Brendan Meyer and his family had arrived in Fiji the day of the hurricane. After seeing the devastation and damage, Brendan Meyer mentioned to Alexisjoyvipaccess, “The island we were supposed to stay on was decimated and our cruise ship destroyed.” However, despite this heart-breaking occurence, Brendan Meyer and his family made the best of their trip by offering their help to those affected by the hurricane! How incredible!
Brendan Meyer and his family stayed at The Outrigger on the Lagoon and volunteered their time to visit the local hospital and give out Christmas gifts. Brendan Meyer joined by his mom- Kathleen, dad-Denis, and brother- Lachlan brought smiles to those affected by the hurricane during a rough time and truly brightened peoples’ days by their touching deed. The Meyers continued to sing Christmas carols in the hospital as well in the village and give out gifts.

The picture above features Brendan Meyer, his mom, dad, brother and Fiji’s first Olympic medalist in the Paralympic games; Mr. Iliesa Delana. Truly such a heart-warming and incredible, inspiring story of what Brendan Meyer and his family did to help those that were truly in need after the devastating hurricane. Pictures below showing damage from the hurricane is eye-opening and so heart-breaking. It just goes to show that no matter what, helping others- just like what the Meyer’s did in Fiji, or even in your own community not only brings happiness to those you helped and to yourself; but it also continues the chain reaction of acts of kindness!

Dylan Riley Snyder shared this touching and heart-warming photo through his Pinterest account along with the caption, “Dylan Riley Snyder Encourages Kids to Raise Cancer Awareness”.
Dylan Riley Snyder continued to write on his official Facebook fan page and said, “I am working with Relay for Recess with The American Cancer Society. I will fly out and spend the day with the school that raises the most money to support Cancer Awareness. Dedicated to my NaNa!”

Bella, Coco and Peyton spent some time with their friends Olivia Grace and Jaylen Barron who also attended the event.

Emily Smith-Dungy has the determination, the competitive streak, and loads of jump-roping trophies on her shelf; but one thing Emily Smith-Dungy (played by actress Olesya Rulin) doesn’t have is the support from her family at her big jump-roping state championship. With the lack of her family’s attendance at her significant competition, it’s as though that was the straw that broke the camel’s back; and Emily Smith-Dungy decides there is only one hope in reuniting her family- taking them hostage and re-educating them to bring them closer together.
“Family Weekend” which comes out to theaters in limited release on March 29, 2013 is truly a movie the whole family will enjoy. “Family Weekend” brings together an all-star cast and crew who graces the big screen with such charm. The movie features the talent of Olesya Rulin (Emily Smith-Dungy), the consummate actress Kristin Chenoweth (Samantha Smith-Dungy), profound actor Matthew Modine (Duncan Dungy), Joey King (Lucinda Smith-Dungy), Eddie Hassell (Jackson Smith-Dungy), Robbie Tucker (Mickey Smith-Dungy), Shirley Jones (GG), Chloe Bridges (Kat), Chase Maser (Chris), and many more. The work of director Benjamin Epps, producers-Adam Saunders (who also starred in the movie as “Rick”) and Chris Aronoff, and writer- Matt K. Turner was terrific and made the movie so realistic and one in which families all over can relate to.
Having covered and attended the “Family Weekend” NYC special screening on March 21, 2013; I can say that I enjoyed the movie from start to finish. Each cast member and crew did a spectacular job and each of their contributions to the film made it the wonderful film it is today. One of the most fantastic elements of the movie is the message of the film. “Family Weekend” helps families realize that the most important thing in life is family and the care, love, and support for one another.
I very much recommend families all over to go and see “Family Weekend” in theaters. It’s a wonderful film with an all-star, excellent cast and crew that families will definitely appreciate! I have no doubt that “Family Weekend” will become another house-hold name.

Joey King: I play Lucinda Smith-Dungy and she’s really funny, well she’s part of a very special family; so she’s kind of special herself but in like a crazy, funny way- she loves theater and she’s always playing dress-up and playing different characters!
